Eon Na’Nathule and Primus Pilus Defeated!

By Laurial Redfeather
The Undead Troll Emperor Primus Pilus of the Appakhros has been permanently killed in battle! The details of what happened are still somewhat sketchy but it seems that the Undead General of the Wasting Host, who is responsible for many deaths among the ranks of the Fifth Mountain Division, was assassinated by adventurers.
Warlord Agnar, Lady Azrael, Cham-berlain Lauroc, Lord Find’rth, Lord Alexander, Lord Ragnar, along with Dark Elves Taji and Kirili traveled with a White Troll to the Plane of Shadow through a Planar Gate. What precisely happened in the darkness on that rainy night isn’t known at this time. The group would all eventually make it back with news of the permanent death of the Troll Emperor and dozens of his most powerful minions. Some kind of accord was reached with the White Troll and his life was spared by Duchess Honour Chivillis.
Already the presence of trolls has ceased and some level of peace has been restored to the Estate of White Rose Keep. Those who took it upon themselves to see the Primus Pi-lus finally destroyed may consider themselves to be heroes in the hearts of the people of the New Kingdom of Arandin.

It is also my great honor to an-nounce the permanent death of the Master of the Wasting Host. Eon Na’Nathule has been killed again and this time it is said to be his final death. Through the use of a strange book known as the Red Book of War, Lord Knight Aldric Harrington’s death has been avenged! The as-sembled adventurers of White Rose Keep, specifically the celestial casters Aria, Taji, Joquinn, Simon and with help from Lord Find’rth were able to defeat the Brute in combat and employ some strange ritual upon him which has rid our land of this foul tyrant.
It is hopeful that the Wasting Host will break up without its leader and return to the Eastern Waste from whence they came. A great victory has been won for Arandin and the adventurers have once again proved responsible for ridding the Kingdom of this terrible evil. Duchess Honour Chivillis was present upon the field of battle and has confirmed that the Brute is no more. Our realm is free of the Wasting War, though there are repairs that need to take place all over the Protectorates of Blackspire, Evinhart and Magestyrium where the battles were primarily fought.
Mystic Wood Elves Disappearing?
By Laurial Redfeather
There have been sporadic cases of Mystic Wood Elves disappearing and then sometimes reappearing.
The survivors are said to have been brought to the fey realm by a leg-endary Satyr named Exceleon. The horrible fate that has befallen those who haven’t returned is not known, though some of the returnees have said they were made to fight against horrible undead and some died as a result of this. There are also darker rumors that there is some dark fey war taking place in the fey realm that threatens to spill over into our world. The fey creatures are not natural and it is advised that all citizens stay away from fey all together. Lady Azura is said to have been taken and returned unharmed, though the specifics to that encoun-ter are unknown.
Formal Council Votes to Limit the Use of Ritual Magic
By Wynsloe Wordsmyth
In an inexplicable action, the For-mal Council has begun negotiations which will lead to the removal of many rituals from the hands of com-mon citizens.
(Continued on page two.)

These rituals include major sum-monings, greater circles, oblitera-tions and genocidal weapons such as constructs and race reavers.
From what I understand, the exact specifics of each ritual are still under question. Recently, there has been a push made by the Regeant Byron Chivillis to fight wars humanely and without powerful and dangerous ritual magics. This effort has been championed by Sir Donovan Justicar who has met with fierce opposition from Grand Duchess Lisabethel Benebwe and Arch Duke Aaron Valantar, even though the Protec-torate of Silverfell voted in favor of Donovan’s proposal.
While the exact ramifications of this revolutionary ratification remains to be realized, it will likely be refuted and ridiculed by many. Presumably, those not recognized by the Formal Council will lose their right to own and use powerful rituals within the borders of the New Kingdom of Arandin.
This means that travelers visiting with their constructs and race reaver weapons will not be permitted to legally use these devices without the permission of a Duke.
The idea that there will be any de-crease in the appearance of fey, pan-therghasts and other hostile creatures is highly doubtful, though now there is precedent to prosecute offenders.

Barbarians in Our Midst?
Opinions By Wynsloe Wordsmyth
I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about Barbarians wandering around Arandin and even claiming a large chunk of Grand Duchess Lisabethel Benebwe’s Northern Frontier Land. Doesn’t anybody remember the Tau-man Horde?
Fifty Years ago these people ruth-lessly slaughtered innocent people in what is now the Protectorate of Blackspire. Their own stupid prejudice forced them to kill all the sky mages they could find, which basically included any human they encountered. Young, old, invalids and pacifists included. Most of the people they butchered couldn’t read let alone throw a stone bolt. Now they are allowed to wander in our kingdom like nothing ever hap-pened? Some have even come from across the mists.
When the Brute invaded the Kalkirst Mountains, he attacked Halvalor the Great Hall of the Folk and the Barbarians were forced to flee to the lowlands just north of Blackspire.
Since these are Old Imperial land-holdings of House Benebwe, I feel strongly that these people should be made to pay taxes for the use of our land and resources. They might be refugees but they should not be allowed to openly plunder our lands and threaten our borders with such a massive force of berserk warriors.
There is little hope that any dip-lomatic solution will be able to be reached and inevitably we will be at war with these craven people once again.
The Arch Duke and Count Derris are well prepared for this eventuality and will take great pleasure in seeing this second Tauman Horde pushed out of our land.
An Open Letter from Regeant Byron Chivillis
I write this letter during a time that should be cause for celebration. Instead, I find myself in a state of disheartenment and query. A report has recently crossed my desk of an incident which occurred in the late morning of the fourth day of this month, the first day this Kingdom has experienced without the threat of Eon Na’Nathule looming over us like a dark cloud.
This report makes mention of a group of citizens from the Protector-ate of Evenhart marching into White Rose Keep, vocally disavowing recog-nition of Dane Allen as High Duke of their Protectorate, and proceeding to assail those that had, hours prior, bound and contained the master of the Wasting Host.
In addition to physical assault, verbal threats were issued forth from the Evenhart citizens to resume the practices of the “Old Andrean Ways”
(Continued on page three.)

of draining wards and bringing forth more violence upon those touched by magic. These actions I find appalling and inexcusable. Should the citizens of Evenhart, or anyone for that matter, have a grievance with any of the standing nobility, it should be brought publicly before the High Council for discussion.
This nation has just concluded a conflict with an enemy from outside its borders, I do not intend to see it torn asunder from within, resulting in unnecessary loss of life.
In closing, I shall make this clear to any and all; if I catch even a whiff of any further incidents similar to the one that unfolded in White Rose Keep, I shall see to it that measures most drastic shall be taken against the offenders.
In service to Country, Crown and Citizenry,
Regeant Byron Chivillis
High Duke of the Kingsland Royal Regent, Kingdom of Arandin

An Open Letter from High Duchess Honour Chivillis
It is with great honor and distinction that I, High Duchess Honour Chivillis, do hereby proclaim the following nobles serve under my banner of the Protectorate of Magestyrium:

Lord Knight Alexander of Barony Whitesword
Lord Knight Ragnar of the Protectorate of Magestyrium
Lady Knight Wildescent Nightwolf
of the Protectorate of Magestyrium
Lord Knight Auric Skytalon of the Protectorate of Magestyrium
Paladin High Sheriff Azrael Vardik
of the Protectorate of Magestyrium
High Judge Lauroc DerWyvernhaus of the Protectorate of Magestyrium
It is with great honor and distinction that I, High Duchess Honour Chivillis, do hereby proclaim the following nobles serve under the auspices of the Paladinal Order of the Rose:
Paladin Azura Nordenn
Order of the Rose
Paladin Azrael Vardik
Order of the Rose
Treat these nobles and officers of my Kingdom with the respect due to people of their title. Expect them to serve the people of the Kingdom with their lives and to perform their noble offices to the best of their abilities.

High Duchess Honour Chivillis
Protectorate of Magestyrium
In Service to Arandin
By Sir Donovan Justicar
Adventurers serve a crucial role in our society. Without heroes and adventurers, Arandin is defenseless. It is a special, important moment when a hero starts walking down a noble road.
I congratulate Lord Malachi Keragoth and the Warriors of No Code for swearing fealty to Marquise Valinice Dian.
He has been awarded the Estate of Thragedon in the Protectorate of Odenis, which he has chosen to honorably name New Ravenwood in memory of the Fallen Imperial Trade City.
With the destruction of our enemy Eon Na’Nathule and the sacrifice made by the High Court of Shirakhou, there is a rekindling of hope dawning in Odenis and Arandin.
The New Kingdom has gained a brother in arms. May he ever be a radiant light against darkness and a thorn in the side of evil.
I also congratulate Baron Agnar, Warlord of Magestyrium. I hope Arandin never loses the benefit of your wisdom or skill with a blade.
(Continued on page 4.)

You are an exemplar of your people’s prowess and tenacity. The estates of Aramis, Oaksong Forest, Briar-blood Forest, and Kharlheim are a sanctuary to the Wild Elven Tribes who valiantly aided in the battles of Blackspire. Informal House White Sword remains a stalwart ally and friend of Arandin.
I applaud Lady Azrael for her ap-pointment to Knight Paladin of Arandin. The Imperial Bureaucracy has long been based in the mind set of Merchantile Houses and not strictly by Code and King. It will be challenging for you to illuminate this darkness. I wish you good luck and good hunting.
I also congratulate Lady Azura for her appointment to Knight Pala-din of Arandin and wish to thank her for her kind words. It has been too long that a Mystic Wood Elf has gone without knightship to Arandin. We can and will endure through each tragedy that the future holds.
I commend Lord Alexander for his appointment to Royal Knight. You have long been a weapon against evil and a stalwart ally of Arandin. The Kingdom is in dire need of battle hardened warriors, I see you as a solution. Serve Our People well.
I congratulate Lord Lauroc for his appointment to Judge of Magestyrium.

You do Waurdonal proud with your work and dedication to the prosper-ity of our Kingdom. You have served the Formal Council in an exception-al manner which I would see contin-ued until the end of our days.
The Fate of the Imperial Mark Revealed
By Winsloe Wordsmyth
Recent happenings in the estate of White Rose Keep, within the Protectorate of Magestyrium, have revealed at long last the fate of the Imperial Mark. Long have the nobles of our land searched for the next heir to our nation. For over one thousand years, a mark in the shape of a crown has appeared on an individual who has been chosen by unknown means to become our leader. Today, we now know what has caused this to occur and why.
During the commencement of the recent gathering assembled within the estate of White Rose Keep, the mysterious words of the ancient cursed traveler named Duron were brought before assembled adventur-ers and nobility. Rumor has it that Duron himself has had several meetings with members of the Formal Council and specifically the Protectorate of Magestyrium. Duron spoke to the assembled adventurers: “I have come forward to speak with the Formal Council these past months to warn you of the path that you have tread. I am not talking of the individual footsteps as you lead your lives, but as a people. You are a part of something that was once great and could be again. The ancestor of us all was Arandin; from a fragmented people he brought unity. He brought the tribes into a Kingdom, not this foul and cor-rupt Empire. When Arandin arose as King he made a vow and that vow was broken. The vow must be taken up once again. I call upon the adventurers of Arandin to take up this challenge, to find and renew this oath … to bond the land and the people. It begins with a test and oath, kneel and take the oath … do not and stand apart from those who would serve our Kingdom and reforge the Concordant Oath:
“By my own mind and spirit I will restore the earth and spirit Promise concordant vowed eternal”
The nobles and adventurers present kneeled in homage to the earth and recited the vow. As the gathered heroes kneeled and recited the word “eternal,” they were moved from the walls of White Rose Tavern and found themselves standing within a stone Parthenon atop a distant peak. As disturbing as this sudden transport may have been, the rotting visage of the cursed Huron was far more frightening.
(Continued on page 5.)

The readers of this new publica-tion may have heard rumors of this former Emperor, bound to sibling in the midst of an ancient curse. Many adventurers know of this powerful beings capability. In the past, Huron has been known both a boon and bane.
A valiant Vansir warrior bravely struck the liche several times; at which point he summoned a death elemental to shield him from attack. While some of the more knowledge-able adventurers may tolerate Hu-ron’s presence in order to prevent a provocation that has proved extreme-ly dangerous in the past, they would not allow him to summon a minion and quickly dispatched the creature. Huron took this assault surprisingly well as if he was bound by some sort of higher goal. He spoke to the indi-viduals of two trials—a Trial of Valor and a Trial of Wisdom.
Feyenne and Ciarrah immediately began to explore the large space of the stone building and quickly located eight different plinths each bearing a strange plaque. The plaques embossed with strange runes became apparent to the two adven-turers; High Lord Magistrate Lauroc DerWyvernhaus began organizing adventurers to aid Ciarrah and Feyenne in translating the tablets. Unbeknownst to Huron, the Trial of Wisdom had already begun as he explained that the Trial of Valor would not cease until the Trial of Wisdom had been solved.
Page 5

Golems of all shapes and sizes poured down from the mausoleum and adventurers stood against the host of automatons until the trans-lators rapidly identified the coded message. The adventurers quickly recited the following:
’THE FIRST WAS ARANDIN THE SECOND WAS VALKILHAN THE THIRD WAS TREVOR THE FOURTH WAS PRAETORA THE FIFTH WAS ALINTHIA THE SIXTH WAS KALDORIC THE SEVENTH WAS BETRAYED’
With the completion of these words Huron spoke, “You are born of wisdom and valor.” With these words the worthy adventurers were pulled into a rift and reappeared within the White Rose Tavern.
The night grew longer and a power-ful rumbling was heard from the grounds outside of the tavern and the large basalt mausoleum rose out of the earth and opened. There are legends of the ancient Vault of the Ashianod and this same vault ap-peared nearly two years ago within the ancient city of Asarpa somewhere far to the south of the continent of Moria. With the appearance of the vault at nearly midnight, the insides of the vault were revealed.
Sitting upon seven stone thrones sat seven ornately dressed beings. Long dead but apparently called back from the graveyards by the power of a be-ing known as the Earth Spirit, sat past kings and queens of Aradin. The past rulers were solemn but loquacious, answering candid ques-tions posed to them by the gathering nobles and adventurers. Informa-tion was revealed about the nature of the promise between Arandin and Karnedasseda, a being unknown. Arandin himself told of how the spirit of Karnedasseda once appeared within a circle of power during his resurrection. She foretold his ascension to King of the assembled human tribes of Arandin and prom-ised to bond him to the earth with his promise to protect the earth and the people.
When questioned, the Seven Kings revealed that the Imperial Mark was bestowed by an artifact called the Silver Crown. The Crown is a symbolic personification of the bond between a ruler and their people and the line of Kings was broken when seventh King was murdered by a man named Kitmer (who then named himself the first Emperor of Arandin).
When the Empire rose, the Silver Crown called back the seven kings. Until this time they have chosen a person that might turn the Empire back towards a golden age, so the kingdom could be reborn. The Seven Kings, known as House Aeter-num, were called back by the power of the Silver Crown and have been custodians of the crown.
(Continued on page 6.)

In the hundreds of years the kings have watched, they have protected the Kingdom from dark forces by gathering items of ancient power and interceding against the darkest
elements of Imperial ambitions.
As House Aeternum and the mag-nificent vault in which they are interred prepared to depart, Aaeun Nimbus presented himself to the kings claiming that he represented a group of adventurers that had won the favor of the Seven Kings. Arandin pointed to contents of the Vault of the Ashianod and said to him, “Select your boon from the artifacts we have gathered from you and we will give you its name.” Aaeun gazed among the magic weapons born by the kings along with the many mysterious artifacts placed upon the shelves and floors around them.
Aaeun’s gaze fell upon a magnifi-cent dragon statuette in gold and green. Arandin then spoke the name of the artifact. He then pre-sented the catalyst and ritual scroll to Aaeun and his comrades in order to summon the artifact. House Aeternum informed all as they departed that the Silver Crown was sundered as a result of Garan for-saking his choice as Emperor. They charged the adventurers and nobles present that communication must be reestablished with Karnedasseda and discover a way to recover the Silver Crown.

The Astrology Report
By Selene D`Vinn
The Warrior
If you were born under this sign, be cautious. There is a traitor in your midst. Are your friends really who they seem? Make sure all of your valuables are locked away and put up a ward on your dwelling place. Now is not a good time to do spy work. Also, stay away from Hoblings, in my experience, they’re nothing but trouble.
The Bull
Take some time today to relax and do what you will. You have been spending too many hours in the workshop, in battle, or studying. Go spend time with your kids or head to the tavern for a nice ale. As a wise man once said, “All work and no play...something, something, some-thing...is very bad!”
The Twins
There is a passionate relationship in your near future. Do not be afraid of being flirtatious. A Child of Camu-luos friend of mine once said, “Let go of envy, for it weighs down rela-tionships and imprisons you both.” This is especially important for you this week. Look around and see who looks back. Then invite them around back to your place... I shall leave the rest to you.
The Crab
Are you in good health? Yes? Maybe you should get a second opinion from a healer.
You will have unexpected health problems in your near future. I would suggest investing in some healing potions. Also, beware of food made from the milk of cattle. It will
only irritate your condition.
The Lion
You may be strong and proud, but do not let your pride get in the way of your safety. Do not be afraid to retreat in battle, for there is a battle in your future in which retreat is the only wise choice. This not only ap-plies to the battle field, but to mat-ters of politics and love. Do not be so proud that you do not back down when you know you are on the loos-ing side of an argument.
The Virgin
This is your lucky day! Your stars guarantee great success in gambling and games of chance. Don’t hold back on betting that extra silver – it will return to you threefold. Once you win, do not be a miser. Share your winnings. May I suggest a large
tip for your local astrologist?
The Scales
You will have troubles in communi-cation in the near future. Now is not a good time write letters to long lost friends or make public speeches. You will have trouble getting your mean-ing across. Whoever you are speak-ing to will not comprehend.
(Continued on page 7.)

What you mean may be entirely different from what you say. Be cau-tious of insulting people. Also, stay away from Stone Elves.

The Scorpion
You’re taking yourself too seriously! Don’t be so stoical. Your stars show that now is not a good time for that. Keep laughter in your life. Learn to loosen up and find humor in every-day situations. Go find some Ro-mani or Mystic Wood Elves and they will show you what I mean.
The Archer
There is something missing in your life right now. What is it? Take the time to examine your life. Look at yourself from outside. Only then can you find the missing puzzle piece. There will be many uncertainties in your near future.
The Unicorn
You’re flying in all sorts of different directions right now. You must focus your energies to one thing, not fifty things at once. Slow yourself down and make a list of priorities. What is the most important to you? Do not accept more tasks for yourself. Your future is busy enough as it is.
The Water Bearer
Stay away from battles! Now is not a good time for fighting. If you enter into a battle it certainly will not end well for you! If a monster crosses your path, run. Do not try to be a hero. Keep off of the field and you should be fine.

The Fish
This is going to be a good time financially, especially for you artisans and craftsman. Your services will be in demand and people will be willing to pay for them. Do not turn down any good offers. Do your job well. There will be a good many bonuses for you in the future.

White Rose Keep apparently is the site for where the partiers go. The “horned brigade” appeared in full vengeance and I can only imagine the partying that ensued (which cannot be enough partying because I was not invited). We will need to correct that, dearies! Rumor also has it that some talented bards are settling in White Rose Keep. I can-not understand why their melodious songs are wasted in the primordial swamps of Canning. I also hear those heavenly voices come with matching bodies!

Speaking of parties – now that the Brute is dead, I can only imagine the celebration across the Kingdom! Remember, I am in Huron currently and unable to travel for social revelry.
New nobility has been announced
– it seems Honour Chivillis is making up quickly for her Protec-torates small size and has inducted several members into her nobility. There’s not a human among them! Chivillis has increased racial toler-ance and her new nobles will certain-ly attest to her willingness to reward service over tradition. And – my my my, what a hunky new Baron she has in this Agnar. I must congratulate him.
It seems Azura is moving up in the ranks in her political career, but can anything top a tryst with a former Emperor? She better be careful. Her liege Lord is married to the Regeant and I don’t think Honour likes to share.
Hunter Donovan Justicar’s heart must be broken over the passing of his dear Lady Delilah.
While he sports the spiffy new colors of Magestyrium, his last name still speaks that he is Valentar’s lackey. Maybe we need to console the right hand man of Honour and remind him where his loyalties should lie…right next to me!
Peacock feathers are all the rage in the cities. Plumage of the most colorful kind is being graced by the high ladies of fashion. Market prices are rising and the birds are being plucked bald. Several protesters took the poor birds and marched into the twin cities in outcry. They were then mobbed by eager entre-preneurs who took the plucked birds from their hands and made the next latest rage—peacock in berry sauce. While I usually don’t like my cocks the size of a pea, I have to admit it was quite flavorful.
WHO IS THE FATHER OF FANNIE FEN’S BABY? Fannie Fen, the daughter of the “lady” known as Canning, claims a traveling Dark Elf Lord is the father of her baby. Inquiring minds MUST know.
So Dian is now Shirakou? The Protectorate of Odenis is now under the rule of Marquise Valinice Dian. While she seems a sweet gal, one wonders what mummy and daddy will think of their daughter’s new political position.

Well that’s all the news we have time for! If you want to be in the know, then know that I know the know.

Congratulations are in order to Lord Find’rth of Ryujima! He is the father! Huzzah! May you, your new love and child have a wonderful future together!
What ever happened to Klarion Darkmoon? This particular sarr hasn’t been seen within the lands of Moria for quite sometime. Rumor has it that the last of his nine lives have been extinguished—or he’s taking an extra long catnap.
Speaking of ex-Sylvan Guard members, Atkin Harbinger was last seen with a mysterious fey known only as Jennae.
Willow Rose and Winterthorn were seen alone together one eve; Winterthorn was visibly intoxicated and appeared to be enthralled by her beauty. Or was he merely charmed?
Newly appointed Baron Agnar has been seen quarreling with Knight Paladin Azrael, but when don’t these two have something to argue about?

Knight Paladin Azrael seems to be a real stickler; I’m surprised she hasn’t trained Baron Agnar to carry around her two-hander by now.
So, apparently Yambag has begun a new fashion trend within the King-dom. Yambag has become known for his outrageous antics and a local clothing supplier wants to capital-ize on his fame. When questioned, the owner explained that the sacks are fashionable and “that people will do anything these days.” Seems like you better get on it Yambag or someone will profit from your “style.”
